10-Days Kenya Luxury Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a member from Diurnal Tours and Travel team who will transfer you to your hotel – Hemingways Hotel . Nairobi is Kenya’s capital city, it is one of the largest and most influential cities in Africa, an important commercial and financial regional hub.

Visiting the pioneer safari capital during your dream vacation in Africa takes you into one of the largest and most diverse cities on the continent, and gives you personal experience with what has become known as “Nairobi character”.

This distinct African metropolitan offers many local attractions where you can learn about the history of the city and the cultures that make Kenya a unique destination for any type of traveler.

Day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli Naional Park

After breakfast, pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi and transfer to nearby Wilson Airport for your morning flight to Amboseli National park. Amboseli National Park is a perfect place for game viewing as it hosts an enormous range of wildlife. This is the best spot on the continent for viewing numerous herds of free-ranging elephants. They are in such abundance here you are guaranteed sightings.

Framing the park is the towering presence of the Mt. Kilimanjaro, the largest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. Its snow-capped summit will peek out when the clouds break at dawn or dusk.

Day 3: Amboseli full Day

Take a full day to explore the wonders of Amboseli National Park. With Kilimanjaro’s majestic peak as its backdrop, this Kenyan hotspot is not to be missed! Established in 1974, the combination of varied ecosystems and wildlife make it a paradise for nature lovers during the dry season.

Though small compared to other national parks, Amboseli attracts birdwatchers from around the world with its incomparable beauty and rich biodiversity. Ernest Hemingway was known to visit often – don’t miss your chance at experiencing this special place.

Day 4: Amboseli to Lewa Conservancy

Fly north to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will transfer to the safari camp, game driving en-route. Arrive at your camp in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive in search of the unique species found in this region including the Grevy zebra and reticulated giraffe.

Day 5 & 6: Lewa Conservancy

The next two days are spent exploring this wonderful privately-owned game reserve, enjoying walking, horse-riding, camel safaris, game-drives, night-drives, fishing, archery, tennis and swimming in the waterfalls behind the lodge. Set amidst 62,000 acres of sprawling savannah, the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy boasts some of the most spectacular views in northern Kenya.

With one of the highest wildlife densities in Kenya including 10% and 14% of the country’s black and white rhinos respectively, the Conservancy is also home to the world’s single largest population of Grevy’s zebras. It is also the best place to spot herds of elephants and buffalo, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, more than 400 species of birds and if lucky, a pack of wild dogs.

Day 7: Lewa Conservancy to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your adventure continues as you take wing to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s premier game reserve. Your traditional safari camp is located along the Sand River, where over a million wildebeest and zebra make their migration crossing every year. With your camera gear ready, meet your expert rangers and take off on a game drive across the reserve’s tree-flecked grasslands. You’ll be amazed by the herds of plains game, elephants and a wide variety of other animals and birds.

Day 8 & 9: Masai Mara National Reserve

These 2 days are spent game viewing in Kenya’s finest wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. Our morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Masai Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunsets well-worth capturing on camera.

Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see an abundance of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot, but reasonably common.

Day 10: Masai Mara to Nairobi

Today you enjoy your last safari activity in form of an early morning game drive. After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi.
